Ghana Conference

26 10 2010

We have already had two video conferences with St. Augustine’s College in Ghana that went very well. The products we have selected to import include backpacks, wooden giraffes, drums, and custom bracelets. You can see pictures of the products below. Ghana has asked us for cameras, watches, polo shirts, video games, and iPods.

Shanghai Conference

25 10 2010

Our first conference with Shanghai got off to a bit of a rocky start as we tried to explain that we wanted to trade physical products. Despite technical errors and difficult communications, we were eventually able to swap lists of desired products to trade. We haven’t confirmed yet, but we hope to receive silk ties, ornamental chopsticks, wallets/purses, and watches. They requested sports clothing for American teams and other items that are distinctly Seattle.

UW – Measuring Social Impact

7 10 2010

The University of Washington Foster School of Business invited us to attend a lecture on Measuring Social Impact and Calculating Social Return on Investment. We learned a lot of very applicable information because we want to have social impact that we can actually measure. A number of businesses and organizations in the area presented how they created and measured their social impact.
